Team News: Bristol Rugby v Cardiff Blues

Bristol Rugby kick off the new season with a friendly clash versus Cardiff Blues on Friday (7.45pm KO). 

In the first rugby fixture played in front of the new South Stand, Andy Robinson selects a 35-man squad for the Ashton Gate clash.

New recruits Tom Varndell, Will Cliff, Daniel Brooks and Marc Jones are all included, while triallists James Phillips, Tom Morgan and Jack Davies could also make appearances.

Bristol are without eleven first-teamers with Anthony Perenise, Jack Lam, Tommaso Benvenuti and Matthew Morgan on international duty, and Ian Evans, David Lemi, George Watkins, Gavin Henson, Gareth Maule and Ross McMillan currently unavailable.

Marco Mama will play no part as he awaits confirmation of a loan move to the Aviva Premiership.
