Team news: Leicester Tigers vs Bristol Bears

Dan Thomas returns from a groin injury to start as Bristol Bears travel to Leicester Tigers on Saturday (1pm KO).

  • Dan Thomas back in line-up following groin injury
  • Nathan Hughes set for 100th Premiership appearance
  • Will Hurrell and Harry Randall earn starts at Welford Road
  • Ed Holmes and Jordan Lay come into the pack

The back rower is one of five changes to the side that suffered defeat last weekend to Wasps.

Harry Randall and Will Hurrell come into the backline for the Welford Road encounter, while Alapati Leiua switches to the wing.

Ed Holmes is named in the engine room, while Jordan Lay is set for his first Premiership start of the season in the front row.

Nathan Hughes will make his 100th Premiership appearance in the round eight clash.

Director of Rugby Pat Lam said: Leicester are getting stronger every game, all of their big players are stepping up and is a tough place to go to.

“To have a chance of winning away at Leicester, the quality of your preparation and training week is vital. Selection has been heavily influenced by those who have been able to train fully during the week and we’re excited by the challenge we face.”

Ian Madigan and Nic Stirzaker come onto the bench and could make their first league outings of the campaign if called upon.
