TEAM NEWS: Ospreys vs Bristol Rugby

Alby Mathewson will make his competitive debut for Bristol in the Anglo-Welsh Cup clash versus Ospreys on Saturday (3pm KO).

The All-Black scrum half comes into the side as Head Coach Mark Tainton rings the changes for the Brewery Field encounter.

Jack Wallace, Will Hurrell and Tom Varndell come into the backline, while Searle and Mathewson form a new-look half back partnership.

Jack Lam skippers the side from the back row, as Dan Tuohy also returns to the starting line-up.

“We’ve made several changes to the team from last weekend to ensure that everybody in the squad is getting game-time and ticking over ahead of our return to Premiership rugby in a fortnight,” said Tainton.

“It’s important to try out a few combinations, but at the same time, we understand what a difficult challenge we face on Saturday against an Ospreys side full of confidence and playing at home. It’s a test we are looking forward to.”
