Ten Bristol Ladies Players Involved In Old Mutual Wealth International Series

Bristol's Sarah Hunter will lead the England side out at Twickenham Stoop for the Old Mutual Wealth Series opener against France.

After making a 100 per cent start to the Women’s Premiership season, many of Bristol Ladies’ international stars will turn their attention to this month’s Old Mutual Wealth series, before returning to domestic action against Aylesford on Sunday, November 27th.

10 members of Bristol’s team have been selected in the England and Ireland squads for the upcoming series. Ireland international Claire Molloy, who represented Ireland at the 2014 World cup in France, was named in a 31-strong squad to take part in a two-day training camp this past weekend as Ireland prepare for the games against Canada, New Zealand and England.

The first fixture sees five Bristol players in action when England face France in a late kick off which is scheduled to be shown live on Sky Sports. Bristol youngster Sarah Bern and team mates Danielle Waterman, Sarah Hunter, Izzy Noel Smith and Marlie Packer will be looking to continue their exceptional starts to the season with a win over France.

England’s fifth most capped player, Sarah Hunter, is once again named captain of an England squad which sees call-ups for Bristol flankers Poppy Cleall and Izzy Noel-Smith. Coming off of a summer which saw her score two tries for Team GB’s rugby sevens team at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Bristol’s Amy Wilson Hardy has also been rewarded with a call-up, all of whom hope to be involved at some point over the series.

Claire Molloy will be hoping to get off to a good start in a potential head-to-head between herself and several of her Bristol teammates when Ireland begin the series against England in Dublin. 2014 World Cup winners, Marlie Packer and Danielle Waterman will then be looking for a strong performance against New Zealand before England’s final game against Canada.

Having scored a try in the 2014 World Cup final against Canada, England’s longest serving current player Danielle Waterman, will aspire to replicate this accomplishment in England’s final game.

The below schedule of Bristol stars on international duty ends with Ireland’s afternoon game against New Zealand on Sunday, November 27th.
