Thatchers extend longstanding partnership

The longstanding partnership between Bristol Bears and Thatchers Cider will continue into the 2020/21 campaign.

The Somerset cidermaker – who have been partners with the club since 2014 - sees their branding featuring on the back of the home and away jerseys.

Thatchers Cider is the family-run cidermaker with its home at Myrtle Farm in Sandford. It has been making cider for four generations, and its knowledge and passion for apples is reflected in its ciders – authentic, full of flavour, and a distinct character that reflects Somerset cidermaking at its best.

Martin Thatcher, Managing Director and fourth generation cidermaker said:  “It’s been fantastic to watch the Bristol Bear’s ever-growing success to become the European Challenge Cup winners for 2019/20 and we’re delighted to be continuing our partnership with the team for the upcoming season ahead.

“Being just a stone’s throw away from Ashton Gate, we’re proud to support one of the best teams in the South-West and we wish them all the best for the 2020/21 season.”

Bristol Bears Chief-Executive Mark Tainton said: "Thatchers Cider are a reputable brand who have backed the club for many years. It's great to see how the Bears' success is aligned with Thatchers Cider's unique family values and we look forward to an exciting 2020/21 campaign working together."

Mark Kelly, Managing Director of Bristol Sport said: “The relationship with Thatchers Cider has been fantastic and aligns to the Bristol Sport philosophy of partnering with local brands.

“Martin and the Thatcher family are loyal supporters of Bristol Sport and sport in the West Country, so we are delighted to continue the association.”
