Vacancy: Academy Athletic Performance Coach

Bristol Bears seeks an Academy Athletic Performance Coach to design, implement & evaluate athletic performance programmes to optimise on-field performance.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop year-round programming, aimed at improving athletic performance outcomes across all areas of training.
  • Individualize training programs and evaluate athletes through the design and performance of baseline tests to ensure players are prepared for the demands of professional rugby.
  • Providing continuous feedback to athletes on their progress and training plans.
  • The post-holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing an integrated athletic performance programme to players and will participate in squad training sessions & matches to support the work of players and coaches.

Qualifications and experience:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Exercise Physiology or a closely related qualification
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge and understanding of rugby union

Desirable:

  • Extensive experience of working within a high performance, professional sporting environment
  • Experience with player monitoring & workload management
  • Experience of working in a high-performance rugby environment

Personal qualities and skills:

  • A passion for developing young athletes.
  • Builds positive & caring relationships with staff & players.
  • Thrives in a team environment and continually contributes positively to the Bears vision & culture.
  • Strong, transferrable communication skills
  • Ability to quickly adapt and respond to a fast-paced environment.
  • A discreet, professional, and confidential approach

Salary: £25,000 P.A

Contract: Contract until 30 June 2023

Closing Date: Oct 8th 5pm
