Vacancy: Academy Education Lead

The Bears Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced volunteer to act as Education Lead for players within the academy pathway.

The role involves the provision learner-centred advice and guidance to players and parents, mainly around the Key Stage 4 / 5 transition point. The person appointed needs to be independent of any school or college and be able to offer advice on that basis.

Anyone seeking to apply would need to have knowledge of pre & post 16 education; and be willing to research programmes within colleges & schools in order to be able to objective and sound advice to players and families. The time commitment is not onerous but tends to be heavier in the autumn term, averaging out at approximately an hour a week. The appointee would liaise with both Junior & Senior Academy Managers and on occasion talk to groups of parents.

The vacancy arises as a result of Rich Berry, current Education Lead, taking on a new role as safeguarding lead and wider role across the Academy.

For more information contact Rich in the first instance for an informal chat before the end of April rberry@bristolbearsrugby.com
