Vacancy: Bears Women Matchday Media Manager

Bristol Bears Women seeks a creative, well organised and dedicated Media Manager to lead on content and media liaison on matchdays in the Allianz Premier 15s.

The successful candidate will play a fundamental role in keeping supporters engaged on matchday through coverage across digital platforms, in line with Bears’ fresh and innovative tone on social media, while managing media responsibilities on matchday.

Ability to work weekends is essential for a multi-skilled operator who is cool under pressure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting to the Head of Media & Communications, you will be expected to:
  • Attend Bears Women home games providing comprehensive media coverage across multiple platforms for our fans and followers
  • Attend away games where possible and, when not travelling, liaise with Team Manager to be able to provide a match report
  • Conduct pre and post-match interviews with manager and players. Upload content to the club’s website and social media channels
  • Write match report – publish on the club’s website
  • Manage external media interviews when fixtures are being livestreamed on RFU.com
  • Manage external media list for press access on matchday at Shaftesbury Park

An ideal candidate will have:

Essential:

  • A degree in Journalism or comparable experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to hold enduring high-quality relationships.
  • Excellent proof-reading skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Access to a vehicle and driving license

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Allianz Premier 15s
  • Previous experience of working in a professional sport environment
  • A passion for rugby
