Vacancy: Community Inclusion Coach

Bristol Bears Community Foundation is seeking to recruit two full time inclusion and disability specialists to join our expanding team as Community Inclusion Coaches (CICs).

As a CIC your role will be primarily focused on delivering high-quality specialist programmes to individuals with a range of additional needs, including Special Educational Needs (MLD, SLD, PMLD, ASD, SEMH) and physical disabilities. In addition, there will be opportunities to work in wider community programmes with adults with learning disabilities and/or complex and challenging behaviour, and individuals and their families affected by loneliness, social isolation or living with dementia.

Each full-time role will come with an identified programme responsibility.

Community Inclusion Coach with Project Rugby responsibility (click for job description and person specification).

This role will directly support the delivery and development of national programme Project Rugby alongside professional rugby clubs the length and breadth of England, under the direct guidance of the Foundation’s Sport Inclusion Lead. This will be delivered in partnership with specialist organisations and local grassroots rugby clubs.

Community Inclusion Coach with Inclusive Sport responsibility (click for job description and person specification).

This role will directly support the delivery and development of our Children In Need funded programmes, providing schools outreach and holiday club opportunities in inclusive sports and physical activity. This role will be delivered under the direct guidance of the Foundation’s Community Inclusion Lead.

Key essential requirements*:

  • Two years sports coaching/teaching experience.
  • Two years experience working with or supporting individuals with disabilities or identified additional needs.
  • Two years experience working with or supporting individuals with a range of communication difficulties.
  • A sound understanding of rugby union or other team sports.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or the ability to obtain prior to working).
  • Passionate about inclusive development and raising disability awareness.
  • Passionate about sport and physical activity.

SALARY

Two full-time roles both at £19,000 per annum.
