VIDEO: Bristol Ladies Trio Reflect On Olympic Experience

Team GB and Bristol Ladies star's Danielle Waterman, Amy Wilson-Hardy and Abbie Brown talk to Georgia Stone about their time in Rio.

The trio made history when they represented Great Britain Women sevens squad at the Rio Olympics earlier this month.

It was the first time in 108 years that Team GB has had representation in rugby at Olympic level.

Brown came into prominence in 2015 as she made her England debut against Wales in the Six Nations before playing for England sevens in the Rugby Europe Grand Prix Series and being centrally contracted.

‘Nolli’, as Waterman is affectionately known, became the youngest female (18) to represent her country when she made her Test debut in 2003 and has gone on to score 36 tries in 60 appearances for England, including a try in the World Cup final triumph over Canada in 2014.

Centre Wilson-Hardy is a full time sevens player and scored 12 tries in the 2015/16 World Series taking her career average to 30 tries in 16 events.

The women’s squad had a heartbreaking end to their Olympic experience when they finished in fourth place after loosing the bronze medal to Canada.

"Coming up short in the last part of the journey is truly gutting," said Waterman.

"I am immensely proud of the part I was able to play within this team.

"We are all so grateful to everyone for supported us both on and off the field, thank you."

Bristol Ladies have their first league game of the 2016/17 on Saturday, September 10th away at Wasps.
