Pat Lam has offered his congratulations to Community Foundation coach Kris Tavender, after he was named Community Coach of the Year at the Premiership Rugby Parliamentary Awards on Tuesday.
Tavender beat off competition from Bath Rugby Foundation outreach officer Joe Aygul and Sale Sharks Community Trust inclusion officer Vicky Irwin, to take the accolade at the House of Commons ceremony – and Bristol Rugby’s new head coach said community work ‘is at the heart everything’ at the club.
“Kris, congratulations on winning Community Coach of the Year,” said Lam.
“Community is at the heart of everything we do here at Bristol and it’s fantastic recognition for the work that you’ve done.
“Great work and we look forward to continuing that work going forward and helping you out where we can.”
