‘We’re over the moon’ - Thomas

Dan Thomas said Bristol Bears were ‘over the moon’ with Saturday’s last-gasp victory over Saracens but insists attention has quickly turned to the trip to Welford Road in a fortnight’s time.

Thomas scored Bristol’s second try against the reigning champions, as Pat Lam’s side ended a run of three successive defeats with a last-gasp triumph at Ashton Gate.

And the flanker hailed his side’s reaction as they got back to winning ways in dramatic fashion.

“We’re over the moon,” he said. “Coming off the back of two losses, we knew Saracens coming down here was a massive challenge.

“The boys trained well all week, we moved on as soon as possible on Monday and turned our attention to Saracens.

“We’re happy with how this week went, but now it’s on to the next job. We’ve got a weekend off now, so we’ll regenerate and then go again for Leicester away.”

Dan Thomas, flanker

“Very proud of how the boys reacted – we had a game plan and we stuck with it, even though the crowd was getting frustrated, and it worked, and I don’t think there’s a better way to win a game than with a penalty at the death.

“The changing room is bouncing, but we know we’ve got three games left and we’re going for three Ws.

“We’re happy with how this week went, but now it’s on to the next job. We’ve got a weekend off now, so we’ll regenerate and then go again for Leicester away.”
