‘We’ve got to stay together’ – Murray

Bears Women centre Phoebe Murray insists the squad remain tight and in a positive head space ahead of their trip to the North East to take on DMP Durham Sharks (1:30pm KO).

‘Now more than ever we need to stay tight’

“We left a lot of opportunities out there. We created them really well but that final pass and decision-making errors let us down. We feel as though that is an easy fix and the more we play together that will come.

“Now more than ever is the time that we need to stay tight. Off the back of a meeting we’ve had, everyone seems to be in that head space.

“Especially this last game before we finish the first half of the season, before we go off for two weeks at Christmas, we’re all really keen we stay tight and put in a good performance to finish off this half of the year.

“I think we need to make sure that we put those past years behind us. They’re completely irrelevant to this season and we’re making sure we’re a completely new team this season with players that are really exciting and making sure we have confidence and back ourselves to win.

“We need to have that mentality going into the game because if we go into it thinking that we’re going to lose, we most probably will, so we’ve got to go into it with our heads held high knowing that we’re going to put in a performance. “
