Win a signed shirt with Pledgeball

Saturday’s potential table-topping game against London Irish also sees the second of the four Pledgeball fixtures of this season.

Bears made a very strong start to their Pledgeball campaign 22/23, pledging to save over 75,700kg of emissions per year, the same amount of emissions as taking more than 15 cars off the road.

This season we’re delighted to be offering Bears fans more opportunities to support the Club through Pledgeball to make an impact and be in with the chance of winning a signed shirt.

What is Pledgeball?

Pledgeball gives fans a platform to take a stand on sustainability. It is a movement that highlights the power that fans can have when they come together with a purpose. This works through Pledgeball fixtures. In each Pledgeball fixture fans pledge to cut down their own personal carbon emissions by choosing from a list of actions provided by the Charity.

The potential that Bears fans have to create and drive change is significant:

  •  Bears Twitter followers simply switching to using recycled toilet paper saves the same amount of emissions as taking over 270 cars off the road
  •  1 Ashton Gate’s worth of fans turning off sleeping appliances equates to taking over 800 cars off the road
  •  1 capacity Ashton Gate switching to a green energy supplier equates to taking over 8100 cars off the road

Simply follow this link to make your pledge.

Last season, through Pledgeball fixtures, Bears fans stepped up to the plate and pledged to save an amazing amount of more than 232,747kg of carbon emissions, the same as taking over 50 cars off the road! This season we want to smash this target and see how much of an impact our fans can have in the fight against climate change.

To help with the effort this season we are offering Bears fans four dedicated Pledgeball fixtures throughout the season and with each pledge you make you will be entered into the season-long prize draw to win a signed shirt. The more fixtures fans pledge for, the more times they’re entered into the draw.

We’re also keen to see Bears fans pledge to save more than Pledgeball (Football) League 21/22 Winners the Robins in their Pledgeball Campaign 22/23.

The top five pledges Bears fans have made are:

  1. Use a reusable bottle instead of buying bottled water.
  2. Recycle everything you can
  3. Walk or cycle if the journey is under 2 miles
  4. Hang your washing out instead of using the tumble dyrer
  5. Wash at 30 degrees
  6. Switch to energy efficient light bulbs
  7. Only buy appliances with a good energy efficiency rating
  8. Use an eco-cup for hot drinks on the go
  9. Use a flannel or reusable face wipes instead of single-use wipes.
  10. Cook your leftovers and minimise your food waste
  11. Compost your food waste
