Women’s Six Nations: Round 2

Sarah Bern got on the scoresheet in the Red Roses' victory over Scotland on Monday, whilst Wales fell to defeat in Dublin against Ireland on Sunday.

Scotland 0-53 England

In defence of their Grand Slam last year, England secured a bonus-point win as they ran in eight tries in a game that was postponed for a day and moved to Edinburgh from Glasgow because of the impact of Storm Ciara.

England were ahead inside three minutes through as Sarah Bern crashed over from short range to open her account in this year’s Six Nations campaign.

The Red Roses crossed for a further seven scores at Murrayfield as Jess Breach, Abby Dow (2), Emily Scott (2), Sarah Hunter and Claudia MacDonald all crossed in snowy conditions in Scotland.

Ireland 31-12 Wales

Siwan Lillicrap and Lauren Smyth both crossed in the second half for Wales as they looked make it two wins on Irish soil in the last six months, but Ireland proved too strong in their own back yard to come out on top amidst Storm Ciara.

Tries from Beibhinn Parsons, Cliodhna Moloney, Lauren Delany and Linda Djougang earned the home side a bonus point after 42 minutes with a late penalty sealing the victory for the hosts.
