Women's Six Nations: Round 2 Preview

High-flying Wales Women face Simon Middleton's England side at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday as Round Two of the Women's Six Nations kicks off.

Wales v England

Saturday, February 11th (KO 11:30am) at BT Cardiff Arms Park.

Saturday will see Bristol Ladies' Sarah Hunter and Carys Phillips go head to head as they lead their respective sides. Wales go into this encounter with a run of five victories on the bounce. A gritty win over Italy in Round 1 will mean their hopes will be high.

England will also cross the bridge with confidence after coming back from a 13 point half-time deficit to France last weekend to win the game.

Bristol's Amy Wilson-Hardy and Danielle Waterman tries, as well as 16 points from the shoe of Emily Scarratt were enough for Simon Middleton's side, but up against Phillips' in-form side at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park, they face another test of their Championship credentials.

Bristol player and Wales captain Carys Phillips has been an abrasive presence at hooker and will be key to closing down the ball-carrying influence of Bristol and England skipper Sarah Hunter from No. 8.

No doubt this will be a game not to miss.

France v Scotland

Saturday, February 11th (KO 8pm) at Marcel Deflandre

Samuel Cherouk's France Women's Six Nations champions looked to have got their title defence off to the best possible start when they went in at 13-0 up at Twickenham last weekend.

Les Bleues record at home is tremendous, but in Scotland they face a side continuing a seemingly magnificent rebuilding process under Shade Munro.

The former Glasgow Warriors coach watched his side just fade at the last against a strong Ireland team, losing out 22-15 and Munro will want to see his side continue that momentum against France.

Ireland v Italy

Sunday, February 12th (KO 1pm) at Tommaso Fattori

Tom Tierney's side got an almighty fright at Broadwood Stadium on Friday night as Konkel's double put the Scots 15-10 up at the break, but Ireland Women featuring Bristol Ladies' Claire Molloy, fought back to win and they will need every ounce of that fortitude against a teak-tough Italian side on Sunday.

Italy have the chance to build some momentum with their second-consecutive home game and in front of a partisan crowd will fancy their chances of upsetting the Irish - who won the Women's 6 Nations title back in 2015.
