World Cup excitement surrounds England Women’s Camp

Bristol Ladies captain Amber Reed says she cannot wait for the World Cup opener versus Spain.

With less than 48 hours to go until kick off, the fly half insists the squad is feeling excited ahead of the competition.

“I think everyone's just excited to get out now. There's a good buzz around the squad, everyone's excited to get out there, and this is what this year has been building for," said Reed.

“It would be fantastic to win it again but it's a new squad, and we know we need to take it step by step as we have throughout the year.

“As a player, I want to play the best I can and get selected. That starts on the training field, try to be the best player I can be so when I do step out in a white shirt, I can represent my country in the best way.

“I'm massively focused on performance but I just try to enjoy it and enjoy playing on the world's biggest stage with some incredible friends.

"It’s been fantastic playing for Bristol this season, and the club is a massive part of the player I am. You have to play well at club level to set the platform for the international game."
