Young Bears go down at Vallis Way

A young Bristol Bears 'A' battled hard against a strong Ealing Trailfinders outfit, but eventually succumbed to a 35-19 defeat on Saturday.

In a side including 15 members of the Academy and eight players who featured for the U18s last season, Bristol led midway through the first period thanks to Tom Wilstead's three successful penalties, but Ealing pulled away after the break.

Aaron Thompson did dot down in the second half for the visitors, but Ealing scored five tries of their own as Harry Seward, Harry Casson, Kieran Murphy, Jordan Burns and Simon Uzokwe all crossed the try-line.

Bristol Bears ‘A’ squad:

Benjy Joseland, Freddie Owsley, Jack Bates, Charlie Powell, Siva Naulago, Tom Wilstead, Chris Cook, Andrew Turner, George Kloska, Jake Armstrong, Ben Bamber, Alex Groves, Charlie Rice, James Dun, John Hawkins, Aaron Thompson, Tom Kessell, Harry Rowson, Chay Mullins, Deago Bailey.
