Young Guns Show Promise At Singha Sevens

Bristol Rugby’s young charges finished third in Group B at the Premiership Singha Sevens on Saturday.

Bristol suffered two successive defeats, but defeated local rivals Bath in Group B at Sandy Park.

In the opening clash of the afternoon, Exeter Chiefs recorded a 36-5 victory with Max Bodily and Nick Mason claiming doubles, although Billy Searle did touch down for a consolation effort.

And Bristol pushed Wasps close in a spirited performance in Game Two, only to fall to a 22-14 defeat.

A Ryan Edwards solo effort and a penalty try had given Sean Marsden’s side the half-time lead, but three second half tries gave Wasps the spoils.

In the final encounter of the day, Bristol ran riot against West Country neighbours Bath, recording a 33-12 win. Ryan Edwards grabbed a double, while Auguy Slowik, Andy Uren and Old Reds winger Henry Bird also crossed.

Bristol Rugby Sevens:

Sam Jeffries, Jack Capon, Andy Uren, Ryan Edwards, Auguy Slowik, Elias Caven, Joe Dancer (Hartpury), Billy Searle, Robbie Forbes (Hartpury), Ezra Caven (SGS Filton), Henry Bird (Old Reds), Mike Uren (Clifton).
